YOUR INVITED: BIRD BY JUICY COUTURE EVENT

I'm so excited about this post! I love Juicy Couture's Bird Collection! Bird is like the high fashion big sister to the typical Juicy girl. The fashion forward line features luxe materials such as sequins, velvet, leather and tweed. Personally, i love brands that have some edge so when i got this invite to have cocktails and view the new collection i was (and still am) drooling. Here is the invite:
Unfortunately, i don't think i am going to be able to make it out to East Hampton by tomorrow. I have my college going away party in the day time and i might be attending a Giants game in the afternoon. But i will try to score an interview with Samantha Yanks or Lauren Kucerak! Check out BIRD here.
Don't forget to RSVP! Check the upcoming events in the sidebar! Let me know how it goes! Take pics!

YOUR INVITED: CHANEL CHANCE EVENT

With September quickly approaching, my email inbox is becoming a magnet for fabulous invites to fashion events. This week i received this invite:

Hosted by Chanel and Teen Vogue, Chanel's "Chance" party will feature music by celeb DJ Sky Nellor who used to be a model herself. I love when DJ's are women who have style! Both totally unexpected! Here is a pic i found of DJ Sky Nellor doing her thing at the launch of Louis Vuitton's Cruise Collection:

Isn't she chic for a DJ? On another note, I'm excited to see what will happen at this Chanel event. Will it be as chic as the perfume smells?

Remember to check the upcoming events in the side bar!
See you there!

YOUR INVITED: RTR EVENT

When i was younger i remember regularly playing dress up. Now older, i have traded in my cheap plastic Barbie heels for chic Michael Kors wedges. I don't know a woman who still doesn't love to play dress up, whether it be in the privacy of her own apartment or in the dressing room at Barneys. That's why when i heard that the popular designer rental website, Rent the Runway was inviting women to try on clothes at a trunk show, i squealed with adolescent delight. The two day event at the Rent the Runway 'headquaters" will allow women to try on their designer faves from a plethora of designers such as Halston, Preen, Alice and Olivia and Catherine Malandrino. Ladies have the opportunity to rent any dresses they adore. Will i be in attendance? You bet! Here's the invite:

Thanks to RTR for the invite! Dont forget to RSVP! See you there ladies!

Tim Burton Exhibiton @ MOMA

Tim Burton exhibition

Tim Burton's exhibition has been all a buzz in both the fashion and art industry. I'm really excited to check it out asap. Tim Burton has been known for creating fascinating films like Edward Scissor Hands, Coraline, The Night Before Christmas and Sweeney Todd. Tim Burton is also the husband to one of my favorite actresses Helena Bonham Carter. I am sure that this exhibit will be just as exciting as all his previous projects being that it will feature works from most of them.

NYC PREP STAR GIVES BACK ; )

Recently, i got invited to Bravo TV star, PC Peterson's (NYC Prep)"We are the Family Foundation" Charity event hosted at New York City's infamous China Club. I wasn't too sure of what i was getting myself into. Ive been pretty vocal about my feelings on the show and i didn't want to show up in the middle of another devastating episode. I asked PC if they were filming the party, thankfully they were not. Even so, in the name of charity, i gathered my negative thougths and headed down to the hot spot.
PC and I
When i entered the "party" i was a little shocked. It was pretty darn dead considering the fact that i showed up a half hour late to escape the awkwardness of a party's beginning. How could this "big" reality TV star's party be so empty.
I waited around with my friends in the hopes that the cocktail would turn around. I must say, the rooftop was beautiful against the navy blue night sky. It was a magical night to be in NYC. But i wasn't there to get swept up in God's creation, i was there to see what this PC guy could do. Don't let the pictures smiling faces fool you, it was a pretty bad party. Thank heavens it was for charity because if it wasn't i would have probably thrown up in the shrubs and left early. I did meet some cool people though, and as for the NYC Prep Kids..they're nice. At least to your face.

Riding Down Designer Lane..

Recently, Fendi hosted a major party to launch their new bike!
Everyone from socialites to collectors were there and the bike was the big fashion buzz on every ones lips. The bike is fur accented and includes a detachable Fendi case, and leather accessories. So what, it may not be the most practical ride but its hella cute. Maybe we can pass this purchase off as another "piece of art"?

Follow Up : Kyla Emman at Prom Project

I recently volunteered my weekend to be a charity stylist at prom project. I had the honor of meeting several girls and helping them pick out dresses for their big night. Many of the girls could not afford to buy their own dresses,so they were excited to pick out a free frock. Alot of the dresses were designer and even had the tags still attached! Prom project could not have had the event without the many people/ companies who donated dresses, shoes and makeup! Thanks to everyone who came out to make the event successful! It was truly a rewarding experience!

Here are some pics from the day!

The room full of donated dresses and one super snobby stylist (but we wont talk about her).
Friends that found some dark long frocks.
Sweet gal that i helped spot a designer dress!
